Clear expectations for safe diving

Information you can rely on

These terms apply to excursions, courses and related services booked with Ultra Marine Divers. By confirming a booking, each participant—or the parent or guardian of a minor—accepts these terms.

Bookings and acceptance

A booking is confirmed only after availability is agreed and the required deposit is received. The person making a group booking is responsible for sharing these terms and providing accurate participant information. Prices, inclusions and arrangements are those confirmed directly by Ultra Marine Divers for that booking.

Participant information

Guests must provide accurate names, ages, hotel details, equipment sizes, certification level, diving experience, last-dive date, medical information and medication relevant to safe participation. Tell us promptly if anything changes before the activity.

Certification and experience

Certified divers must hold an appropriate recognized certification for the planned dive and may be asked to provide proof. Depth, site and activity limits depend on certification, age, recent experience and conditions. The St. George wreck is for suitably experienced Advanced Open Water divers; final approval remains with the dive professional.

Medical fitness

Scuba diving requires appropriate physical and medical fitness. Participants must answer required medical questions honestly. A physician’s written clearance may be required before diving. Pregnancy, recent surgery, certain medications or conditions involving the heart, lungs, ears, consciousness or equalisation may prevent participation until medically cleared. Instructors and guides cannot provide medical clearance.

Safety authority

The instructor, guide, captain or operator may change the plan, restrict depth, require a skills review, refuse participation or end a dive when reasonably necessary for safety. Instructions, buddy procedures and local rules must be followed. Unsafe, intoxicated, aggressive or environmentally harmful conduct may result in removal without refund for the affected activity.

Minors

Discover Scuba Diving has a minimum age of 10. Junior depth limits and supervision rules apply: divers under 12 are limited to 12 metres, and junior divers aged 12–15 are normally limited to 18 metres, subject to certification and professional guidance. A parent or legal guardian must complete the required consent and medical documents.

Trips, weather and wildlife

Routes, boats, timings and dive sites may change because of weather, sea conditions, park rules, diver experience, safety or operational needs. Wildlife is wild and no animal sighting can be guaranteed. Comparable alternatives may be used when reasonable.

Equipment and personal property

Included equipment should be checked during setup and any concern reported immediately. Participants are responsible for equipment they bring and for reasonable care of equipment issued to them. Ultra Marine Divers is not responsible for ordinary loss or damage to unattended personal items, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Alcohol, drugs and conduct

Participants must not dive under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or impairing substances. Avoid excessive alcohol before diving, stay hydrated and inform the dive professional about any medication or concern that could affect safety.

Flying and onward travel

Guests are responsible for leaving an appropriate surface interval before flying, travelling to altitude or undertaking strenuous onward activity. Follow the most conservative applicable guidance from your training agency, dive computer or medical professional.

Liability and applicable rights

Diving and boat travel involve inherent risks. Required assumption-of-risk, medical and safe-diving forms must be completed before participation. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights where doing so is prohibited by applicable law.

Payments and cancellations

Deposits, balances, refunds, no-shows and operator cancellations are governed by our Booking & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
