Wreck, reef and island adventure

Saona Island full-day dive trip

Travel from Punta Cana or Bávaro to Bayahibe and continue by boat into the Caribbean Sea toward Saona Island. This full-day trip combines the shallow Atlantic Princess shipwreck with Peñón Reef, followed by lunch and relaxed beach time on Saona Island and a stop at the Natural Pool.

Atlantic Princess is our first dive and Peñón Reef the second. Peñón offers one of our best natural chances to see sea turtles, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed. Every dive profile is adjusted to the certification, recent experience and comfort of the group.

  • Available every Monday and Friday
  • Two dives with a maximum of four divers per instructor
  • Equipment, island lunch and Natural Pool stop included

A wreck, a reef and Caribbean marine life

The Saona Island dive experience

Saona Island is one of the Dominican Republic's most memorable Caribbean diving day trips. Below is a short overview of the two dives—in their correct order—and the personal small-group experience you can expect during the day.

1. Atlantic Princess Wreck

Our first dive is the Atlantic Princess, a shallow shipwreck resting upright in clear Caribbean water. The open structure, growing coral and schools of tropical fish make it an enjoyable wreck dive for certified divers without requiring a deep profile.

2. Peñón Reef

Our second dive follows Peñón's coral formations, sponges and sandy areas. This relaxed reef is home to tropical fish and offers one of our best natural chances to encounter sea turtles while diving around Saona Island.

Natural Turtle Encounters

Sea turtles regularly visit the reef and seagrass areas near Saona. We observe them calmly and respectfully without touching, feeding or chasing. Every encounter is natural, so sightings are possible but never guaranteed.

Personal Small-Group Diving

We keep a maximum of four divers per instructor. This gives us time for a proper briefing, a comfortable pace and personal attention above and below the surface.

Atlantic Princess and Peñón Reef are our normal Saona Island dives. The final route and depth always depend on certification, recent experience, sea conditions and the group.
